Buying Back the TIme

6-11-2023
Sunday Morning
Pastor Gloria

John 10:10 The theif comes only to kill, steal and destroy.  It is time to buy back the time.  God wants to bring back everything back that was stolen from you.  Time for the church to take back everything the devil has stolen.
Your days are numbered.  Time is limited.  Jesus has already paid the price.  The church needs to be a threat to the devil. Those willing to surrender.
Psalm 13:16 Time is a gift from GOd.
Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time.  Live in constant awareness to make the most of our time count for good.  Look carefully how you walk.
Titus 3:8 Be diligent about doing good.  His mercy endureth forever.  Don’t put God 2nd.  Bring glory to the kingdom.
Ephesians 5:15-18 Be careful how you live.  The days are evil.
Proverbs 2:1-15 We overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21 Don’t be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
Our lives are full of hope and victory.

Mark 9:14 Live like we are dying.  Know your purpose in life.
1 Cor 3:12-15 Selfish-Carnal will burn up and blow away.
2 TIm 2:15 It is alright to ask God to show you and lead you.

Sermon Notes

Psalm 118:24 O Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good.  Give all of who you are.  His steadfast love endures forever.  The battle is not yours but the Lord’s.
Be thankful. Thank the people around you.
Colossians 4:2  Continue, steadfast. Being watchful.  The Lord goes before you. His will is better . Have a thankful heart. Many problems you can’t solve.  See who needs prayer.  Be thankful.
Our nation has forgotten to be thankful.  Sing glad songs of all God has done for you.  When you are going through hard times, praise the Lord.
Psalm 89: 15-16, Psalm 118:15
Our delight is in the Lord. Put Him first.  Learn to be thankful for what you have.  Time to be thankful
Correct children in Love.
If God is discipling you, there is a reason for it. My delight is in the Lord.
1) How to have a heart of gratefulness-walk in faith.
2) Luke 17:12-19 We must learn to become praisers.  (That is a ministry in itself) Psalm 30:1-13  When you become unthankful, God will take it from you.
I praised You and You healed me.
3) 1 Thessalonions 5:18 In everything give thanks for this is GOd’s will for you.
4) Gratitude-refers to the ability to give thanks for the things you have been blessed with (Job, house, car, etc.) This is the abundance of God’s blessings.
5) Thanksgiving is gratitude for God’s love and peace. Gratitude can turn a negative situation around.
Challenging times will come to every life.
Job 1:20-21 (but he praised God)
David was no stranger to hard times.
Psalm 142:1-2
Moses Exodus 15:25 (the people blamed Moses . After that they came to Elim where there were 12 springs and 70 palm trees.
Peter-the same challenging test (Hard Times)
Mark 14:26-31  John 21:15-25
Look at verse 72
God is our guide through hard times.
We are inspired, comforted, always thankful he brought us out in total victory.
Church, it is time to be thankful.  Let’s praise the Lord!

Respect, like Love, is not based on a feeling.  It is a choice. And, it is a choice that God wants us to make.
1 Peter 2:17 Respect everyone, and love the family of believers.
What choices are you making? Are you waiting to “feel like it?” before showing respect and love to others? Or are you willing to  love and respect because “God said so?”
What is respect?  One definition is- showing due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights or traditions of others.
Do you feel you must agree with someone to respect them? Evidently that’s not what God had in mind when He said, “Show respect to everyone.”  It is a choice.  A choice that sets the believer aprt from the unbeliever.

If Any Man be in Christ

Sunday Morning
May 9, 2023
Pastor Phil

2 Cor. 5:17-19 If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, behold all things become new.
Change is difficult.  We can change only by the power of God.  When we are in Christ, we have a new life and a new ministry, the ministry of reconcilliation.  We are to tell others, on behalf of Christ, how to receive this change.
God has chosen you to be part of the process.  You can’t change other people. c
Change comes only by the power of the Holy Spirit, but, God works through us when others see peace, joy, etc.
Present Christ to everyone.  There is power in the declaration of the gospel, through your personal experience with Jesus.  All things become new.  Share your experience.  Share your testimony.  It brings them hope.  People need to know that there is hope-and His name is JESUS.  We are His servants.  There is no plan B. Tell people about Jesus.  Let them see the peace, love and hope.
With this change the spiritual man comes to life and we recieve the mind of Christ.  We find purpose. Go into ALL the world.  Everyone is a candidate for this change.  Luke 9:1-7 Example:  Zacheus was a tax collector- hated by the Jews and the Romans.  He used an unjust balance and put part of what he collected into his own pocket-he was a thief. BUT, Zacheus wanted to see Jesus and he was desperate to be seen by Jesus.
Only believe, don’t listen to bad reports.  You have the ministry of reconcilliation-share your testimony.

Testimony-Be specific

5-8-23

I just received this testimony from my cousin.
I sent her my confessions for healing and this was her reply.

I loved how specific they were.  Great job remembering that God made us and is concerned about everything that concerns us.  I shared with my Sunday School Class that when we lived in our first house in Mobile, we needed some dirt to fill in some really low spots in the back yard.  We couldn’t afford dirt. So I prayed for dirt. Not long after our developer started an addtion to our development. They were hauling away dirt.  I asked if I could have a small truck load.  They were happy to dump it.  Matt was gone, so the boys, Richard and I got buckets and the recycling bins and started moving it.  Had to work quickly before a storm came and washed it away.  That’s my story about how God gives us even the smallest desires of our hearts.

Embracing the Word

4/9/23
Sermon Notes
Easter Morning
Pastor Gloria

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word…
Psalm 63:8 David talking. My soul clings to you. Your right hand upholds me.
Embrace the Word.  The Word of God is powerful. One word from God and people are made whole. God walks through the world with you. He is our manna. Quit
worrying, God is in charge.
People need to repent or they will go to judgement.  My soul clings to God. In the last day, God will pour out His Spirit. It is the last days.  God’s Word is good forever and ever.  Your children will stand and call Him Lord.
Deut. 11:22
2Tim 3: 16,17  All scripture breathed out by God. The Bible is God Himself. That the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.  Life and death is in God’s hands. God carries His people home. Devil has no part in our death. Embrace the Word and you are embracing Him.
2 Peter 1:18-21  We are equipped to do good work. The Word of the Lord remains forever.  When you run from God you are running from the contract from God.  I’ll take care of you and your children and your children’s children. The devil wants to take you out.  Embrace the Word.
Matt 24:34-35 When God says it’s finished, it’s finished. The Word will not pass away.
Isa: 55:10-13 God’s Word will never change. Seek him while He may be found.  Call upon Him while He is near.  God can’t give you revelation if you don’t read.  The Word shall not return void. People full of the Word are happy people. Embrace the Word!
Heb. 4:12
Jer 23:29 Purify our words. Don’t deceive yourself. Love everyone. Embrace the Word. God’s Word is true. Is not my word like fire? Declares the Lord. And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
Psalm 1:2-3 ….But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on His law, he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in season and its leaf does not wither.  In all that he does, he prospers.
Hos 4:6 …People are destroyed by lack of knowledge.  We’ve been called as kings and priests forever. Because you have rejected the Word–you will be rejected.  If you forget the Word, He will forget your children. You bring a curse on your children.
Matt 22:29 You are wrong if you don’t know scriptures. Ps 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect- making wise the peopl.e.

The Message of the Cross

4-2-23
Sunday Morning Sermon Notes
Pastor Dennis

Be sure to watch The Chosen Series.

Jesus knew He was going to die.  He was a man on a mission.  He went willingly. He was destined for a purpose.
Large crowd shouting “Hosanna to the King!”
1 Chron 1:18
Just to know this Man doesn’t make you a Christian.  To us, the cross is the power of God unto Salvation.
500 people saw Him after He came back to life.
People are the center of their own world.  Self Indulgent.
Why do they need God?  They think they are fine.
The world wants to be tolerant of what they do.  Can’t do that!
John 3:16,17  World through Jesus might be saved.
We need to pray for people and for our nation.  What we believe is well worth standing up for.  Peter learned that after he got an understanding of the cross.
Jesus is NOT on the cross any more.  He makes intercession for YOU.
Jesus was innocent when He went to the cross. He was between 2 criminals.
They were there for their crimes.  He had done nothing. He said to the one who believed, “I’ll see you today in Paradise.”
Have to have relationship with Jesus. Understand the message of the cross. Jesus died for you.
Love Jesus and He will direct you what to do. Only ONE way to Heaven.
Salvation is undeniable and miraculous.  Everything about that life changes. The way you think changes.
Stay focussed on His purpose.
If you die in your sins there is eternal separation from God. When Jesus had the sin of the world on His shoulders, He said, “Father why have you forsaken me?”
He was separated from God for the first time. God turned His back when Jesus had the sin of the world on His back.  Your sin-My sin.
He met the devil and won!  He’s the healer, the deliverer, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. His obedience to His father gave us the choice.
1 John 3:8 Jesus manifested destroyed the works of the devil.
The devil has a plan. Jesus has a plan. We have a plan.
Our plan needs to align with Jesus’s plan.
The cross is foolishness to the lost.  Jesus died for everyone.
Jesus wept when they refused to accept Him.
1 COr 2:6-9
Jesus wants YOU in heaven with Him.  You don’t know what God’s got for you.
Jesus died for us so that we can be saved.  Jesus is praying for us.
Rev 22:1-4
Cross is the avenue to step into a relationship with Jesus.
If Jesus came today, would you be ready to go?

Saving Ben

The other side of the Story.
“Even when I don’t see it, You’re Working.”
4-5-23
Gail Ruth

This is a testimony concerning Ben who was formerly married to my neice and is the father of her three girls.
This past Sunday, April 2, 2023, Ben was in church and literally dropped dead. He is mid 30’s, no history of heart conditions.
He was revived 4 times and is now recooperating from this experience.  Here is the other side of the story:

The following note was sent to the pastor from the young man who used the AED on Ben (automated external defibrillator-used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest)
This is a mighty testimony of how God had everything orchestrated for Ben’s protection.  (See the man’s text below.)

What a miracle!  I wish you could have see the team of people that came together to help Ben.  I honestly wouldn’t have been able to recognize any of them as we all had our heads down, but I can remember clearly that there was a man on his hands and knees holding Ben’s head and praying in his ear.

It is amazing to see a miracle from God first hand.  The crazy thing about this is that I was an EMT (emergency medical technician) 9 years ago. I haven’t officially practiced for almost 8 years. However, I’ve been keeping my EMT recertified through online training which I completed on March 31st. (The event happened April 2nd)

As I walked into church during worship, something popped into my head about Bill (another church member) with all his heart trouble and it prompted me to look up how to administer an AED for someone with a pacemaker.  So, as worship was going on, I was refreshing on the proper placement of an AED. As I read about the pacemaker and how to be prepared for a cardiac emergency for Bill, the Spirit was preparing us to go to battle just 40 minutes later for Ben.

(The AED was used 4 different times on Ben to revive him.)

Do you have a testimony that you would like to share?  Send it to me, or write it up and give it to me at church. It builds up our faith to hear wonderful stories of how God is at work in the lives of his children.

Do the Little Things

God Thoughts
James 1:17 Every good gift  and every  perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

As the years go by, and you ponder your life, often you find that regrets are not always about the big mistakes you made, but sometimes about the little things you didn’t do.

When we drove to our ranch in Freer, Texas, we passed a little rest area with a picnic table on the side of the road . My oldest daughter was small then and she was intrigued by this rest area and would beg as we flew past “let’s stop and have a picnic!” It seemed the most unlikely place to me for a picnic, and I would just keep driving pointing out, “Honey there’s not even a tree!”

Thank goodness I did relent, and we stopped once for a picnic, but I have often wished I had made a bigger deal, packed a bigger lunch, and stopped more often Just Because She Wanted To.
A big regret over a seemingly small thing.

This past weekend I kept my youngest grandson while the older grandkids attended a concert. He wanted me to take him to Sonic for supper. I said OK and we can take our food to the park for a picnic! The plan was made.

While we were in line to get our food, he said , GiGi,  I want to go to THAT park-pointing to the Sonic playground. It didn’t look nearly as inviting as the park I had in mind and I pointed out -there’s no grass, and we have Pearl (my dog) with us. But he really wanted to go to THAT playground.

I started to continue pointing out why my picnic spot was better, when I remembered my daughter. And instead I said, OK Cole Bear let’s go to this park and we did.
Lesson learned.
