Your LIfe is Your Legacy

March 27,2023
Pastor Michael

1 Chronicles 28:5  End of David’s life. He plans to build the temple, but God told him he would not construct it, but his son would. (If he continues strong)
God is looking for one person to serve him who can pass down the good life.
Generational effect. 1 Chron. 28:9  And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with whole hearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek Him ,He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.
David didn’t want his legacy to end.
Maybe you think you made too many mistakes and messed up your legacy.  Maybe you have lost the trust of people close to you. God can restore it all.
Love the way God loves. 1 Cor. 13
Listen to God and His timing and we will be victorious.
Start with faith the size of a mustard seed.
The enemy tries to take your boldness from you.  We have opportunities every day.
Your life is your legacy.
Every choice is important.  God forgives us, but we still have the effect of our mistakes in our lives.
Your time is Right Now.
2 Sam 23:1-5 Last words of David. The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me, His Word is on my tongue…Rule justly, in fear of God.
Your life is your legacy.  What has God called you to do?
Stand and build a legacy.
Through the geneology of David came the birth of Jesus.  David was a man after God’s own heart.
You never know who you will affect.
It doesn’t matter how many mistakes you have made, take a stand!

Lessons From the Life of David

3-12-23
Sunday morning
Pastor Michael

Turn to God for everything.  It’s not about how you feel.  Our faith pleases God.  The God of revelation wants to show you things about your life.  We can learn things about our own lives through studying the lives revealed in the Bible.
What can we learn from David’s life?

David was born to the tribe of Judah, the youngest pg 8 sons. He was annointed by Samuel to be King was he was young. He killed Goliath before he was 20 (20 was the age he would have been drafted into the military with his brothers) Saul was the reigning King at that time. Saul had issues with David and wanted to kill him.  David hid in the cave of Abdullam where God sent him 340,000 men.  At about age 38 David became King over Israel.

Lessons from David:  1 Chronicles 21:1-4
God gives wisdom.  God told David how to win battles.  David did what God said.
David had a big reputation and made a great impact all because of God. There were more than 1.5 million men ready to follow every command from Davi. David was tempted to take the census (instead of relying on God, he  looked to numbers) 1 Chronicles 21: & evil in the sight of God.
David has to pay a price for not looking to God but looking at resources.  “I have sinned greatly.” God gave him three options for his punishment. 1) Three years famine, 2) 3 months enemies 3) 3 days the  sword of the Lord.  David chose #3 because the “mercy of the Lord is great.”  In 3 days 70,000 men were killed.
Lesson #1-Put your full faith in God.  Give God glory for  everything in our lives or run the risk of not having God do what He wants in our lives now.
Proverbs 16:18  Pride goes before a fall.  A haughty spirit looks down on other people-thinking you are better than others. Pride- deep pleasure in your own accomplishments-everything points back to self.
John 15: 1-6 Pruning process.  You cannot bear fruit unless you are connected to the source-God.  Apart from Me, you can do nothing. God wants selflessness from us-give without recognition.
Am I looking to God or to myself?

2 Sam 11:1  When it was time for the kings to be out to battle, David stayed home.
Lesson #2- Be in the right place at the right time.
Don’t go certain places. God keeps us out of conflict when we are where we are supposed to be.  Remember, you are in a battle.
Spend time with God, pray. Put yourself in the  right place.  When you get relaxed, you can be tempted to let up on what you should do.  You always have a choice.
The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
Sin leads to a mess.  Ex. David and Bathsheba.  He takes another man’s wife, she becomes pregnant. Does David come clean with God?  NO! David’s heart became hardened as he covered his sin.  When we do things in our own strength it doesn’t work.
David tries to cover up the mess. Next, David plans Uriah’s death.  David could have stopped at any point. Once sin gets started, it is a cycle.
2 Sam 11:26 Other people are affected by our sin. There is a price to pay for wrong choices.  Punishment:  The sword will always be in your (David’s) house and the child (David and Bathsheba’s child) will die.
After it all, God forgives David (David had a long list of sins because of his heart being calloused)
How long is our list of sins?  God can turn it all into something beautiful.  If God can use David, God can use us. God wants to use you.
The stronghold of pride keeps people from God and from living the life God wants from them.  Bring pride to God.  He wants to give you a beautiful result in your life.  He can take your life and make it a testimony.  God is at work in you.
Is 40:28-31 Put pride aside.  I don’t want to do it on my own.

The Time Is Now

2-26-23
Pastor Michael
Sunday Morning

God is stirring His people. We all want to be a part of it. Venture Church is not in competition with other churches.
What He is doing in your life is unique and special to your life.  Don’t compare yourself. Everything is not a competition.  Comparison is the thief of joy.

The Time is NOW.
John 8:10 Jesus was preaching in the temple and anytime Jesus was preaching there was a crowd. The woman who was caught in adultery was brought to Him and Jesus stood up and said to her …;.”Sin no more.”…”Neither do I condemn you.”

Almost every time He healed someone he would tell them to repent and sin no more.  We need to look deep into our lives, is there anything in my life?  Search our hearts and minds. He wants a connection with you,  a deeper relationship. His will is that all will come to repentance.. ALL. God is stirring people, waiting for us to open our hearts. People are curious and curiosity can drive revival. There is hunger and God is showing up.

John 4:23 What is He looking for? He is looking for true worshippers; those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Don’t hide from the Lord. Ask Him to expose anything in us that he doesn’t like.
If there is true worship then there must be false worship.  Looks good on the outside but something is missing.  These are hypocrites.  We must allow God to expose the things in us that need to change. Get rid of hidden sin. Don’t tolerate sin.  Man looks at the outside, but God looks directly into the heart-He sees what we can’t see.  To be like Him, we have to learn about Him.

Have no reservations, no plan B- JUST GOD.
God wants people to give complete control to Him. THE TIME IS NOW.  All you need is the faith God has given you. He has given you enough faith to keep you on His path.  God is moving.
He is a GOOD God, a JUST God.  Stay on track.

God destroyed whole cites that tolerated sin. There was exceedinly grave sin in Sodom and Gomorrah. A little sin destroys the whole vessel. It’s time to stop tolerating any sin in your whole life.

When God is working in a life it shows up in the outward life in the form of Peace,Patience, Joy, Integrity.
Tolerated sin brings down the community church.
Is there anything in me?

When God is at work in a life, people want to know- What is different?
Your entire walk with God  is ultimately  up to you. He will use people to encourage you.

Rev 2:2-7
1. What do we need to do?  Repent and sin no more.
Have we left our first love?  Repent and do the deeds you did at first or “I’ll remove your lampstand out of it’s place.”
Repent and turn back to your first love.
To him who overcomes,  will eat from the tree of life in the Paradise of God.
2.Rev. 2:14 Don’t tolerate false teaching.
2:17 To him who overcomes will be given hidden manna, a new name-just for you.
3. Rev 2:20 Don’t tolerate immorality.  God will always provide a way out, a way of escape.

Rev 3:10 …To him who overcomes (He gives us the tools we need to overcome)
To those who hold fast-no one will take your victor’s crown- you will be a pillar in the Kingdom of God.

God wants to do great things in your life. Things are not the indicator of when you have arrived. The peace of God is when you have arrived.

Examine your heart.  Is there anything unpleasing to God in me?
Time to get sin out.  “Behold, I  stand at the door and knock.”
Let God restore you.  Bring anything hidden out. Time to repent any sin-name it- call it for what it is and get rid of it.
God forgive me, I repent.

Absloute Truth

2-19-23
Pastor Dennis
Sunday Morning

Different men wrote the Bible. How do we know it is true?  Because the Bible says so.  If the Bible says it, I believe it!
If the Bible says don’t do it. DON”T DO IT.
End times-people will not endure the truth.
No man comes to the Father but by me (Jesus).
John  12:13
Born of a virgin.  At 30, went about doing good and healed them all.
Miracles exist.  It is absolute.
We have to know the absolute truth.
Jesus died on a cross.
He came back from the dead.
He walked among people and then He ascended.
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Name of Jesus above every name.
I am the God who heals you.
We have access to everything He says we have.
He is the Healer, Son of God,Savior.
Bible is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH.
2 Tim 4:4 They shall turn their ears from the truth and shall be turned to fables.
Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No man comes to the Father but my Me.
Accept Christ yourself.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
1 Tim 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Church is strong. People are hungry for God. Hunger is not satisfied until filled with God.
Don’t let anything take you from your passion to serve God.
Saturate yourself with the good things. Prayer, praise.
There are absoluteisms-The Bible. Word will not return void.
Being a Christian is a process-Learn_ enhance relationship with God.
Don’t by swayed by half truths. KNOW the truth and it will set you free.

Your Beginning is in the End

2-12-23
Sunday Morning
Pastor Michael

Story about a boy named “D”. D had lots of potential, but the pain of life caused him to retreat into his bedroom where he felt safe.  The pain of life causes many people to retreat. The situation can be turned around with God.
Sometimes life is hard, but God has a way out for you.  Isaiah 41:9-10 You are not rejected by God. Do NOT fear. Enemy uses fear to stop people from doing what God wants for them.
Fear-unpleasant emotions caused by belief that something or someone is dangerous.  Fear causes us to alter our course.  We can become anxious-intense worry about everyday situations.  The root of anxiety is fear.
Many many fears- examples: fear of falling down, fear of public speaking, fear of flying, fear of not having enough, fear of other people, fear of spiders, fear of failure (can keep you from even starting), fear of rejection.
God says, “DO NOT FEAR.”
Take a step, take action.  Action cures fear.
David-The story of David. 1 Samuel 16:11 Young shepherd who loved God and loved music.  Worship connected David to God. He was annointed and the Spirit of the Lord rested upon David.  Favor of God. Sam 18:1 Defeated Goliath.  Saul was jealous of David and tried to kill him.  David retreated into a cave where God ultimately sent  350,00 men to fight with David.
David knew what it felt like to not feel safe, to be on the run for his life. But, things were about to turn around.  David did’nt want to do things on his own any more.
He was at the end of himself. That’s when God can step in.  It may not look like you think it should, but God has a plan.
God sent expert warriors to help David.  You never know what God is doing.
Turn to God.  He is able . He will strengthen you.  God is able to turn it all around.

Go to the Other Side -Pastor Dennis

10-16-22
Sunday morning
Pastor Dennis

Mark 4:35
When seeds are sown:
1. Some fall by the wayside-The Word is sown and satan immediately comes and steals the Word.
2. Some fall on stoney ground- No root. Received with gladness but no root. When affliction arises, scorched up.
3.  Some fall on thorny ground-Choked by the cares of this world. (Don’t be offended)
4. Some fall on GOOD ground- Let’s be good ground.
Let’s go over to the other side.
When great storms come-Point into the wind. When the disciples were in a great storm, Jesus was alseep in the boat. They woke Him up and He rebuked the storm.
“Why are you so fearful?”  Well, we were about to sink and we thought we were going to die.  Jesus was the GOD MAN.  He is the master of every storm.
How is YOUR ground?  Plow your ground.
God made everyone for a purpose.
After the miracle of loaves and fishes there were 12 baskets left over.  12 disciples.
God made everyone for a purpose.
Go to the other side. This time Jesus came walking on the water. Don’t be afraid-it’s ME.
Peter-Loud and proud. Sometimes it just gets hard.  TRUST GOD. “I die daily.”
God saved me, He didn’t kill me. Prayer availeth much.  Jesus wants to be Master of your storm.
Prepare your soil-pray and praise, study. If your soil is not prepared, there will be a problem.
He wants to be Master of your storm.
Life is full.  Don’t be offended.  Take notes, work at it.  Prepare good ground in your life.  Peter walked on water- eyes on Jesus. When he looked around he sank.
What are you struggling with? There are battles every day.  The devil hates you.
We wrestle not with flesh and blood.  The battle belongs to the Lord.  We should have growth everyday. Work your ground so you will be good ground.
