God Thoughts
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

As the years go by, and you ponder your life, often you find that regrets are not always about the big mistakes you made, but sometimes about the little things you didn’t do.
When we drove to our ranch in Freer, Texas, we passed a little rest area with a picnic table on the side of the road . My oldest daughter was small then and she was intrigued by this rest area and would beg as we flew past “let’s stop and have a picnic!” It seemed the most unlikely place to me for a picnic, and I would just keep driving pointing out, “Honey there’s not even a tree!”
Thank goodness I did relent, and we stopped once for a picnic, but I have often wished I had made a bigger deal, packed a bigger lunch, and stopped more often Just Because She Wanted To.
A big regret over a seemingly small thing.
This past weekend I kept my youngest grandson while the older grandkids attended a concert. He wanted me to take him to Sonic for supper. I said OK and we can take our food to the park for a picnic! The plan was made.
While we were in line to get our food, he said , GiGi, I want to go to THAT park-pointing to the Sonic playground. It didn’t look nearly as inviting as the park I had in mind and I pointed out -there’s no grass, and we have Pearl (my dog) with us. But he really wanted to go to THAT playground.
I started to continue pointing out why my picnic spot was better, when I remembered my daughter. And instead I said, OK Cole Bear let’s go to this park and we did.
Lesson learned.
